biography

Samuel Dominic is an Australian choreographer, artistic director, and educator working at the forefront of the performing arts industry. Known for his refined artistic vision and commitment to excellence, he collaborates with leading performing arts institutions across Australia, travelling interstate weekly to coach and develop emerging talent at the highest level. In his teen years he trained in Classical Ballet under direction of Paul Boyd and developed his contemporary practice under Sally Wicks. He also trained in Jazz, Hip-hop, Latin, Acrobatics and Musical theatre forming the foundation for his distinctive and well-rounded approach to movement.

With a strong focus on contemporary, lyrical, and technical training, Samuel works with leading performing arts schools across Australia, travelling interstate weekly to coach and choreograph. He has also worked with dancers of all ages both nationally and internationally. Known for his thoughtful approach to both artistry and technique, his choreography is distinguished by its musicality, emotional depth, and attention to detail. His ability to refine and elevate dancers’ performance quality has made him a highly sought-after coach within the industry.

Samuel was appointed Artistic Director of SCIMM’s youth program Platforms, where he led the company through show season, overseeing creative direction, development, and performance outcomes. He is also invited internationally as a judge for the International Arts Festival, founded by the Singapore Dance Alliance.

His teaching and choreographic work has been featured on stages around the world at competitions such as YAGP and Prix De Lausanne and at leading conventions including the CYD Convention (UK), KAIROS Dance Convention (New Zealand), and the Australian Dance Festival. He was also selected as one of six finalists for Australia’s Choreographer of the Year. He also worked with Squared Division to prepare contestants for the lyrical section of Channel 7’s Dance Boss.

As a performer, Samuel began his professional career at 16 with a secondment to Expressions Dance Company (now ADC) in Brisbane. By 18, he secured an international contract with Royal Caribbean, performing in Saturday Night Fever and as an aerialist in In the Air. He later worked as a Production Dancer for Norwegian Cruise Line, with screen credits including Thor: Ragnarok and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Samuel brings a dynamic, supportive, and disciplined energy to his teaching. His ability to connect with dancers and foster both confidence and technical growth creates an environment where artists are challenged, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.
